Emily Oberg, founder of Sporty & Rich, has hit the nail on the head with her upcoming adidas collection. With the 3-stripes’ enormous sporting archive and Oberg’s eye for timeless pieces, the collaboration has turned out to be a match made in heaven. You can find three shoes in this collection, all of which look like they have been plucked out of the Herzogenaurach archive in Germany.

The Sporty & Rich designer had no problems adding her brand’s image to the Stan Smith, while still paying respects to the silhouette’s heritage. The white canvas upper is meant to pick up signs of ageing and wear, making them feel more unique to you as time passes. This is an idea that Emily Oberg expresses through her brand saying, “we encourage our customers to keep their S&R pieces forever, as they will only get better with time”. The shoe’s simple appearance means that trends will come and go, yet the shoe will still feel like they belong in your rotation.

The tongue is where we find the most obvious sign of co-branding, an all lower case “sporty & rich” taking the place of the iconic Stan Smith patch. Every time you slip these on, your finger brushes past the burgundy embroidery, a fun reminder of S&R’s presence. The trefoil logo takes centre stage on the side panelling, adding another tasteful touch to a design that oozes class.
